Chief Adviser Invites Turkey for Relocation of Garment Factories in Bangladesh

In a groundbreaking move, the Chief Adviser, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has extended an invitation to Turkey for the relocation of garment factories from Bangladesh. During a meeting with a delegation led by the Minister of Commerce of Turkey, Professor Dr. Omer Bolat, at the National Guesthouse Jamuna in Dhaka, the Chief Adviser emphasized the importance of creating job opportunities for the youth in the country. He highlighted the mutual benefits that could be derived from collaboration between Bangladesh and Turkey in various fields.

“We seek your assistance in providing opportunities for our youth. This is my appeal to your country for the betterment of mine,” stated the Chief Adviser.

Moreover, he urged Turkish investors to utilize the workforce of Bangladesh for the management of their factories, enabling them to source products from this region efficiently.

Professor Dr. Yunus emphasized that through mutual cooperation, Bangladesh and Turkey could realize a dream partnership in various sectors. He expressed a keen interest in expanding the warm relations between the two nations across all domains.

“We have much to accomplish. In some areas, we seek your support, technology, and investment,” Professor Dr. Yunus conveyed to the Turkish delegation.

Highlighting the potential for bilateral cooperation, Minister of Commerce of Turkey, Professor Dr. Omer Bolat, mentioned that their collaboration could extend beyond the garment industry to defense manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural machinery.

“We can replace markets like India and collaborate in import sectors in Bangladesh. Cooperation can be beneficial at all levels economically and socially,” said Professor Dr. Bolat.
