Opinion on the Right to Give Opinions on Students or Teachers’ Discipline: Hafiz
In a shocking revelation, Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, a member of the BNP’s permanent committee, made a bold statement that some intellectuals are wasting their time discussing matters related to discipline. According to him, there is no right to give opinions on the discipline of students or teachers.
Setting the Record Straight
Hafiz emphasized that the responsibility of instilling discipline lies with the National Parliament. Students threatening to bury the 1972 Constitution should be a cause for concern. The representatives of the people may love the Constitution, but they should also enforce it. Unfortunately, the Bangladeshi people have lost faith in their government. They believe that by voting, the BNP will come into power. But is this really the solution?
Reflecting on Past Elections
Hafiz’s comments come in the wake of his discussion with journalists in Ward 5 of Lalmonirhat Municipal City on Thursday afternoon. He expressed confidence in the people’s ability to vote wisely if elections are held in June this year. The citizens of Bangladesh have historically cast their votes thoughtfully in every fair election. The consequences of their choices have always been visible. It is time to end the current state of chaos and uncertainty.
Looking Towards the Future
Hafiz did not shy away from addressing the external threats faced by Bangladesh. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sitting in India is allegedly conspiring against the country in various ways. To break free from this influence, a quick decision must be made to hold elections in July or August. Hafiz’s words were supported by Lalmonirhat Upazila BNP Secretary Shafiqul Islam Babul, Joint Convener Md. Farid Uddin, Sohel Aziz Shahin, AMM Faisal Haider, and many others present at the gathering.
As we navigate through these uncertain times, it is essential to remember that our actions today will shape the future of our nation. Let us stand together, make informed decisions, and work towards a brighter tomorrow for all Bangladeshis.
