In Dhaka, Bangladesh Federal Journalist Union Secretary General Kader Gani Chowdhury has said that the path of mobile journalism has changed. News flow has become easier and more convenient. On Wednesday (May 14), at a workshop organized by Kaler Kantho for mobile journalists, he mentioned all of these. The event was attended by the President of the National Press Club and the editor of Kaler Kantho, Hasan Hafiz. In the workshop, various sessions were held on video production, editing, presentation, and creating stories for content, providing training on various skills by Voice of America freelancer journalist Amrit Malangi.
Kader Gani Chowdhury said that mobile journalism plays an effective role in news collection, presentation, and dissemination. In the media industry, mobile journalism is becoming increasingly popular. People are leaning towards it because convenience matters. Journalists’ smartphones are now their offices. Broadcasting news is possible from anywhere at any time through a phone.
He said, it is said that Mojo is the one-man army. With a device, one takes photos, shoots videos, gives voice, edits, and then uses the news effectively. So, to work in Mojo, one must know how to create and apply video content strategy. Conduct the best research for video content. Design or plan new content daily. Creativity, simplicity, and technical skills in content presentation. Lastly, excellent communication and presentation skills.
Emphasizing the importance of Mojo journalism, he said, due to the rapid pace of information technology, mobile networks have become popular. From one end of the world to the other, news can now be delivered in an instant on a mobile phone. Especially with the advent of the internet, the entire world’s information is now in the palm of your hand. Social communication media like Facebook, Twitter, Viber, Messenger, and Instagram have increased the importance of mobile usage. At this time, all online news portals, satellite TV channels have become mobile versions. Along with that, online news portals, online TV, and radio are growing, and live shows can be shown on TV through smartphones. Therefore, global news is now available on mobile phones.
