Hey guys, so there was this cool event in Fatickchari upazila recently. The event was all about raising awareness about thalassemia and how getting a blood test before marriage can help prevent it. The event was organized by the social welfare organization Maizbhanderi Shah Ahmeddiya Blood Donors Group, in collaboration with the Bangladesh Thalassemia Society and the local administration.
Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder that’s spreading like wildfire these days. Thousands of children are born with this disease every year. But hey, the good news is, with a little awareness and a simple blood test, we can actually prevent this disease.
The event had a bunch of activities lined up, like blood group determination, free thalassemia tests, and an awareness seminar. More than a thousand students, young people, thalassemia patients, and professionals from various fields participated in the program. They even collected 364 samples from different areas for thalassemia research.
At the event, prominent figures like Engineer A. K. M. Matin, Chairman of the Bangladesh Thalassemia Society and Hospital, and Dr. A. K. M. Akramul Hasan Swapnil, Chief Medical Officer of the Bangladesh Thalassemia Society and Hospital, shared their insights. It was a great opportunity for everyone to learn more about thalassemia and how to combat it.
One of the speakers, Dr. Adnan Mannan, a professor from Chittagong University, emphasized the importance of getting tested for thalassemia before marriage. He mentioned how thalassemia is a hereditary disease that passes down from parents to children. It’s not caused by viruses or infections, but due to lack of awareness, many children are suffering from it. But hey, a simple blood test before tying the knot can make a huge difference.
The Chief Guest, Engineer A. K. M. Matin, highlighted the significance of humanitarianism in Islam. He stressed the need for active participation in social initiatives to combat diseases like thalassemia. It’s not just about preventing the disease, but also about building a healthier society.
So yeah, let’s all get regular blood tests, raise awareness, and take social responsibility to prevent thalassemia. It’s not that hard, right? Let’s do our part to make a difference!
The event was a success and hopefully, more people will now understand the importance of thalassemia prevention. It’s all about taking that first step towards a healthier future. Let’s make it happen, folks!
So yeah, that’s the scoop on the thalassemia awareness event in Fatickchari. Stay tuned for more updates on how we can make a difference in our society. Peace out!
