Private Car Accident Claims Life of Youth in Uttara
In a tragic incident in front of the BNS Center in Uttara, Mamunur Rashid, a 30-year-old youth, lost his life in a collision involving a private car. The victim was also the driver of the private car at the time of the accident, adding a layer of complexity to the already heartbreaking situation.
Details of the Incident
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening around 6 PM when Mamunur Rashid was critically injured and rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in an ambulance. However, despite the efforts of medical professionals, he was pronounced dead at 9 PM the same day. Mamunur Rashid was the son of Abdul Jabbar from Kona Panchurukhi village in Nandail Upazila, Mymensingh.
Eyewitness Mahbubur Rahman Bakul recalled that Mamunur Rashid was crossing the road in front of the BNS Center in Uttara when a speeding private car struck him and another person. Both victims were injured and taken to Bangladesh Medical for treatment. While one person received primary care and was discharged, Mamunur Rashid’s injuries were severe, requiring further treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Family’s Shock and Grief
The family of the deceased, led by his elder brother Md. Harunur Rashid, shared their shock and grief over the sudden loss. Mamunur Rashid himself was a newlywed, having been married just six months ago, and was residing with his family in Uttara Ajampur area. He had gone to the area for personal reasons in the afternoon and later received the devastating news of the accident over the phone.
Dr. Faruk, in charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical, confirmed the tragic news of Mamunur Rashid’s death, providing a sense of closure to the family and community.
