The members of Atikram emphasized in the memorial plaque the crucial aspects of the environmentally-friendly Tista Mega Project, the economic region, the commencement of an airport, the four-lane road connecting Rangpur-Lalmonirhat-Burimari, the dual-gauge rail bridge over the Tista River, the initiation of Mongla Port, medical colleges, IT parks, the new railway line between Bogura and Sirajganj, arrangements to send unemployed youth abroad, governance of the Dharla River, and the establishment of a government agricultural market for farmers.
Atikram’s convener, poet Helal Hossain Kabir, expressed, “We have been engaged in social movements for a long time. When the plight of the people in the northern region will end, we do not know. We seek the realization of the 12 demands, including the implementation of the Tista Mega Project, to alleviate the suffering of the people in this area.”
