Development in the Country Hinges on Elected Government: Barkat Ullah Bulu
In a recent exchange of views, Barkat Ullah Bulu, the Vice Chairman of the BNP, emphasized the crucial role of the elected government in fostering development in the country. Addressing the attendees, Bulu underscored the dire economic situation prevailing in the nation, attributing it to a severe decline in law and order. Without a doubt, he asserted, progress in this country is contingent on having an elected government in place. The esteemed Chairman of the BNP, Tarek Rahman, has been sidelined 31 times, making it seemingly impossible for the country to forge ahead.
On a Tuesday evening, Chandpur witnessed a gathering at the residence of BNP’s district president, Sheikh Farid Ahmed Manik, where efforts were made to streamline the party’s operations by coordinating with the leaders of the 15 units in the district. During the exchange of views session, Bulu shed light on the challenges faced over the past 17 years, including oppression, injustices, disappearances, and countless fresh loss of lives, all of which have kept the country on the BNP’s radar. With 6.5 million party workers facing allegations, 2,000 disappearances, and numerous mothers bereft of their innocent children due to unwarranted actions by Sheikh Hasina, the country is now being governed by a single government following Sheikh Hasina’s exit.
Political Missteps and the Way Forward
Bulu pointed out that some political parties have been busy spreading misinformation about the mistakes made by the BNP, leading to a distortion of facts. He emphasized that there is no place in the BNP for land grabbing and corruption. The reorganization of various expired committees of the 15 units in the district BNP is underway. Opinions will be sought on this matter. Bulu urged the leaders to prepare for the elections from now on.
Reorganization Efforts and Party Unity
The expired committees of various units are being reorganized, and discussions are being held to reestablish a national election and structurally organize the party. Under the leadership of Chandpur district BNP President Sheikh Farid Ahmed Manik and General Editor Advocate Salim Ullah Salim, members of the Central BNP Executive Committee, including Mahbubur Rahman, district BNP leaders, and workers from various upazilas and municipalities, were present at the meeting.
In conclusion, the development of the country is at a critical juncture, with political parties like the BNP striving to navigate through challenges and reorganize effectively to thrive. The role of the elected government remains paramount in steering the nation towards progress and prosperity. Let us reflect on Bulu’s words and ponder on the future trajectory of the country under the prevailing circumstances.
