Hold Accountable Those Who Have Committed Injustice: Abdul Awal Mintu

In a recent gathering at the Town Club in Pirojpur, Abdul Awal Mintu, the vice-chairman of the BNP and a prominent leader in the Barishal division, emphasized the need to hold accountable those who have been involved in heinous crimes such as murder, torture, and disappearances, regardless of their political affiliations.

Seeking Justice for Victims

Mintu’s call for justice comes in the wake of the recent fall from power of the Awami League government, where over 1200 party workers have faced punitive measures for their involvement in anti-organizational activities after the downfall. Mintu stresses the importance of ensuring that those responsible for such actions are brought to justice, regardless of their political allegiances.

Challenges and Promises in the Next National Elections

When asked about the upcoming national elections and the BNP’s potential participation, Mintu highlighted the party’s intention to contest the elections if the Awami League decides to do so. He also pointed out the injustices committed by the ruling party and expressed the need for accountability for those involved in such acts.

Mintu also addressed concerns about the BNP’s image being tarnished, asserting that the party leadership is vigilant in safeguarding its members from undue pressure and intimidation. He underscored the importance of a fair election process to establish the people’s rights and emphasized the party’s readiness to participate in any upcoming national assembly.

Unity and Cooperation with Jamaat-e-Islami

Regarding the relationship with Jamaat-e-Islami, Mintu clarified that there is no animosity between the Awami League and Jamaat-e-Islami supporters, as each group operates based on its party ideology. However, he emphasized the need for a transparent electoral process to empower the people and shared the BNP’s commitment to organizing effectively for the upcoming elections.

In a gathering led by Mo. Alomgir Hossain, the BNP’s district convenor, and Gazi Wahidujjaman Lavlu, the party’s secretary, prominent figures from the Barishal division, such as Aqun Kuddusur Rahman and Mahabubul Haque Nannu, were present as special guests, highlighting the significance of unity and collaboration within the party.

As the nation gears up for the next parliamentary elections, Mintu’s message resonates with a call for accountability, transparency, and justice, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their political affiliations, are held responsible for their actions.
