Archery Federation in Bangladesh Desires Residential Training Center in Nator
The Archery Federation in Bangladesh is eyeing a new location for a residential training center in Nator, specifically in the Gurudaspur area of Khubjipur. The desire for this facility was expressed during a vibrant celebration held at the Abdul Hamid Complex in Khubjipur last Friday.
Celebration of Archery
The event was a colorful affair, with the surroundings of the Khubjipur Multifaceted High School field lit up with the spirit of archery. People of all ages gathered around, creating a festive atmosphere reminiscent of a fair. Various activities, including archery competitions, colorful rallies, traditional cake festivals, and cultural events, were part of the program organized by the Bangladesh Archery Federation as part of the nationwide Tarunno Utsab.
Proposal for a Training Center
After successfully establishing archery training centers in Nilphamari, Faridpur, and Tangail, the Archery Federation has set its sights on Khubjipur in Nator for its next venture. The General Secretary of the Archery Federation, Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal, proposed the establishment of a residential training center for archery in Khubjipur.
Support and Collaboration
The Federation has expressed its intention to seek support from the government for land allocation, with the possibility of foreign assistance if needed. The Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Mr. Saidur Rahman, has assured administrative cooperation for this initiative.
Celebrating Achievements
The event also showcased the talent of young archers, with Saiful Islam winning gold in the boys’ category and Imtiaz Fatemi Fuad and Safayet Hossain securing silver and bronze respectively. In the girls’ category, Arubi Afroj clinched gold, while Prabhati Ray and Samia Akhtar won silver and bronze. Mithila Akhtar, Sonali Akhtar, and Brishti Ray excelled in the compound event, winning gold, silver, and bronze medals.
The Archery Federation is planning further celebrations in nine venues across the country, with upcoming events in Chuadanga on January 27, Naogaon on January 28, Rajshahi on January 31, Chittagong on February 2, and the grand finale on February 8 at Dhaka’s historic Paltan Maidan.
As the festivities continue, the Archery Federation aims to promote the popularity of archery in the region and provide opportunities for aspiring archers to hone their skills and represent Bangladesh on the international stage.
