In the heart of Satkhira, a tragic incident unfolded on Monday night at 10 PM in the Eochia Union of the Upazila, leaving two people dead and five injured in a violent clash. The victims have been identified as Najam Uddin and Abu Chalek, with details of the five injured individuals remaining unknown at this time.
Confirming the fatalities, Superintendent of Police (SP) Saiful Islam Santu of Chattogram Police mentioned, “We have recovered the bodies of two individuals. The cause of this incident is still under investigation.” It has been reported by the police and local sources that the deceased were found with foreign firearms, believed to have been looted from a nearby station.
The five injured individuals were initially taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital from the scene before being transferred to a private hospital in the city. Alauddin Talukdar, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Chittagong District Police, stated that the injured were brought in a critical condition and their identities could not be ascertained immediately. They were later shifted to a park view for further treatment.

Subsequently, an attack was announced over the mosque’s loudspeaker, prompting a retaliatory assault on the assailants. During this chaotic event, shots were fired, resulting in casualties.
On the other hand, another claim suggests that a group of robbers was surrounded by the local community, prompting them to open fire in self-defense. This action led to five locals being injured by stray bullets. Enraged, the community then engaged in a scuffle with two individuals present at the scene, resulting in their deaths.
