Enhancing the Presence of Education NGOs in front of Secretariat Building

In a bid to demand reinstatement due to job cuts, the 40th batch of unsanctioned educational inspectors gathered in front of the Secretariat building. They have vowed to continue their protest until their demands are met, even if it means staying till 5 pm.

Protest Details

On Monday, starting from 10 am, the unsanctioned educational inspectors positioned themselves opposite gates 1 and 2 of the Secretariat building. They expressed their grievances over unfair dismissals from training and demanded job reinstatements. Previously, they peacefully protested in front of the Ministry of Home Affairs on January 5th and 6th, where they were assured appropriate action by the Secretary.

Insight into the Protesters

One unsanctioned educational inspector, choosing to remain anonymous, revealed that they participated in training on November 4, 2023, only to be dismissed in November 4, 2024. They were labeled as disinterested and disruptive during the training, despite being among the top 100 in a semi-annual exam. Another protester shared that they endured a year of unpaid training and sacrifices, only to be let go when regular employment seemed possible. These inspectors felt their dismissals were unjust, especially after being granted unsanctioned status collectively by the Police Academy.

Training and Dismissal

The 40th batch of cadet educational inspectors, totaling 823 individuals, commenced foundational training in the Sardah Police Academy in Rajshahi from November 4, 2023. However, allegations of misconduct and disruptions in both field and classroom settings led to a total of 313 inspectors being relieved of their duties and dismissed from their positions.

In conclusion, the presence of unsanctioned educational inspectors in front of the Secretariat building underscores their plight and the need for fair treatment in the workforce. Their peaceful protests call attention to the challenges faced by those in training and demand justice for their dismissals. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen if their voices will be heard and their demands met.
