Former MP Nasimul Alam of Comilla Sentenced to Prison
Former Member of Parliament (MP) Nasimul Alam Chowdhury from Comilla has been arrested and sent to prison on charges of involvement in the murder of an employee named Moh Shahjahan (22) at a factory under the Mahakhali Flyover during an anti-discrimination protest.
The arrest and subsequent imprisonment of Nasimul Alam Chowdhury were ordered by the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka, Mr. Chhanaullah, on Tuesday. The investigation officer of Banani Police Station, Sub-Inspector Yashir Arafat, requested his detention and imprisonment in connection to the case.
