government-aims-to-start-starlink-internet-within-ninety-days

The Bangladeshi government is on the verge of introducing Starlink internet services to the country within the next ninety days, in a bold move to expand high-speed internet connectivity nationwide. Already, several local companies have partnered with Starlink in this endeavor, marking a significant step towards revolutionizing internet services in Bangladesh.

A team of Starlink representatives is currently in Bangladesh, engaging in discussions with various local entities to finalize collaboration agreements. These partnerships are set to include land allocation, infrastructure development, and future maintenance responsibilities, showcasing a robust commitment to enhancing internet access for all citizens.

As part of their visit, the Starlink team has compiled a list of potential sites across Bangladesh for the installation of ground stations. While some local companies are keen on utilizing their own premises for this purpose, discussions are also underway for the utilization of high-tech parks for this groundbreaking initiative.

Fayez Ahmed, Special Assistant to the Principal Adviser, has revealed ongoing deliberations regarding site selection and the implementation process. He expressed optimism that Starlink’s services would ensure rapid internet access, particularly in the northern and underserved regions of Bangladesh, safeguarding against issues like overloading and natural disasters.

Furthermore, Ahmed highlighted that many parts of Bangladesh still face limitations due to constrained telecom-grade fiber networks and power interruptions, hindering internet services. Starlink aims to address these challenges and accelerate digital initiatives for entrepreneurs, freelancers, NGOs, and small to medium-sized enterprises across the country.

Moreover, within the next ninety days, efforts will be made to establish a feasible model for Starlink’s integration. Prior to this, Professor Mohammad Yunus extended an invitation to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk for a visit to Bangladesh, proposing the introduction of Starlink services in the country.

Yunus emphasized the opportunity for Musk to engage directly with the youth of Bangladesh, who will be among the primary beneficiaries of this advanced technology. To facilitate this coordination, the Principal Adviser has entrusted Dr. Khalilur Rahman to oversee the necessary tasks within the next ninety working days for the commencement of Starlink services in Bangladesh.

The conversation between Professor Yunus and Elon Musk on February 13 delved into the future plans for launching Starlink in Bangladesh and fostering collaboration for the project. The clock is ticking towards the envisioned launch date, and Bangladesh eagerly anticipates the transformative impact that Starlink internet services will bring to the nation.

The progress towards the introduction of Starlink internet services in Bangladesh is a testament to the country’s commitment to technological advancement and inclusive connectivity. As the world moves towards a more digital future, Bangladesh is poised to embrace this evolution with open arms, ushering in a new era of innovation and progress for all its citizens.
