Breaking: Two Drug Traffickers Arrested with 5200 Yaba Pills

In a recent crackdown operation by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB) in the Gulshan area of the capital city, two drug traffickers were apprehended with a staggering 5200 Yaba pills. The individuals in custody have been identified as Mo. Russell Hossain, aged 34, and Mo. Sumon Khan, aged 29.

Details of the Arrest

The apprehension took place late Sunday night at 10 PM near the Kaola Bus Stand under the jurisdiction of the Airport Police Station. Confirming the development, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Media and Public Relations Department of the DB, Mohammad Talebur Rahman, emphasized the significance of the operation.

Police Operation and Seizure

DC Rahman disclosed that a specialized operation to combat drug trafficking in the capital was underway, with intelligence pointing to a significant drug trafficking network operating near the Kaola Bus Stand on the Mymensingh-Dhaka highway. Acting on this information, a team from the DB-Gulshan division initiated an operation in the area.

During the operation, the DB police team managed to intercept and apprehend Russell Hossain and Sumon Khan. Subsequent search and seizure operations led to the recovery of 5200 Yaba pills from their possession, estimated to have a street value of approximately 15.6 million Bangladeshi Taka.
