Rangpur Riders’ Captain Naeem Hasan Sohan Speaks Out About Boundary Length in BPL
In the latest edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), boundaries are becoming increasingly popular. Fans seem delighted with almost every match they witness. The reduced length of boundaries is seen as the reason behind this trend. Sylhet had expressed concerns about this in the past, led by the captain of Barishal, Tamim Iqbal.
Sohan’s Views on Boundary Length
This time, the captain of Rangpur Riders, Naeem Hasan Sohan, spoke out about the boundary length. According to him, the ideal boundary length should be maintained. The wicketkeeper-batsman stated, “I believe the boundary length should be ideal. Since T20 matches are high-scoring games, the risk of getting out is quite high within the limits.”
International Cricket Boundary Length Standard
In international cricket, games are usually played with boundaries set at 65-70 meters. However, matches in Dhaka and Sylhet have boundaries set at 58-60 meters, which is not ideal. On the other hand, the boundary length in Chittagong was almost perfect.
Rangpur’s Unbeaten Streak and Recent Loss
Rangpur, undefeated in eleven matches, was stopped by Durbar Rajshahi. After winning three matches in the Global Super League, Rangpur saw their first defeat in yesterday’s game, losing by 24 runs.
Sohan’s Response to Recent Loss
Regarding the recent loss, Captain Sohan stated, “Yes, certainly (a warning). We played well today. It should definitely be an alarming issue for the team. Everyone in the team needs to think about it now. Cricket is such that playing well here will lead to victory.”
Current Standings in BPL
With 16 points from 8 wins in 9 matches, Rangpur is currently leading the standings. Barishal follows closely in second place with 12 points from 8 matches, and Chittagong Kings are in third place with 10 points from 9 matches.
