Developing Self-Improvement Techniques: What to Do

Our minds and bodies are intricately connected – when the mind is well, the body is well, and vice versa. Therefore, mental health is even more crucial than physical health for our overall well-being. It’s not enough to maintain good health through physical exercise and effort; a person cannot always stay well if their spiritual or mental development is lacking. Let’s explore some ways to improve our spiritual well-being.

## Forgiveness

Practice ‘Ho’oponopono’ to keep your mind clear. The four main phrases in ‘Ho’oponopono’ are: ‘I love you; I’m sorry; Thank you; Forgive me.’ Imagine the person you have a bad relationship with, create their image in your mind, and bring the power of love from your higher self by repeating the above phrases. At some point, you’ll find yourself thinking that the problem has been resolved, and you have forgiven the person.

## The Power of Peace

We often obsess over our desires and wishes, causing constant worry about whether we will achieve them or not. But instead, try to stay calm. Think of yourself as an eight-year-old child, be impartial to your own faults and virtues, but softly question yourself. Invite silence into your mind and say, ‘Come peace,’ ‘Be calm.’ Soon, you’ll notice your mind calming down. Practice this whenever you feel restless.

## Exercise for Stability

Sit on a chair and place both feet flat on the ground. Close your eyes and visualize a divine light at the end of your spine, which yogis call ‘Kundalini.’ The electric current flows through your body, sucking out all the impurities and negative aspects. You may feel very light. Initially, you’ll need a quiet place for this exercise. Later, if you can do it regularly, you can do it anywhere. Keeping your mind calm is a great remedy. Its benefits will be understood every moment.

## Activate the Three Chakras

The pure chakra, the anahata chakra, and the manipura chakra play with divine light, joy, and consciousness. So, it is very important to keep these chakras active. Keep pressure on the throat, heart, and spleen. You’ll need to do this for two minutes a day.

## Nerve-Stimulating Exercise

Stiffness is not a good thing. It is called ‘Tamasic Bhava’ in the language of yoga. You can do various yoga exercises to stimulate nerves and relieve stiffness. For example, press your thumb of one hand slightly up on the wrist of the other hand. Slowly bring the fingers towards the index finger of the opposite hand. Do this twelve times. It will help relieve your stiffness.

## ‘Qi Pho’ Exercise

It will only take two minutes to do ‘Qi Pho’. Gently massage both hands and keep pressure on your entire body. Start from the head and open up, leaving the brain and neck. It will help produce energy in your body by increasing blood circulation. Our mind is the place to think. It is always busy thinking about something and trying to find a solution, whether it is good or bad.

## Planting Trees

Planting trees is a very good habit. Gardening nourishes the mind. Planting trees and taking care of them will take you closer to nature, make you a nature lover, and help you become as generous as nature. Having a garden at home will give you fresh air. Additionally, you will get fresh vegetables for cooking.

Our minds are very restless. To calm this restless mind, you can use various methods including yoga exercises. When the mind is calm, you will see the potential for success in all areas of your life, both inside and outside the home. A calm mind is the key to well-being. When the mind remains stable, you can achieve peace and beauty in your work, family life, and spiritual life. Life will become even more beautiful.
