In a recent statement, former State Minister of Disaster Management and Relief, Dr. Anamur Rahman, claimed that a total of 290 individuals who were injured during the student and public movement in the past four months have received free medical treatment at Enam Medical College. The treatment extended to an additional 576 individuals from different regions, according to Dr. Anamur.
Former State Minister Dr. Anamur Rahman, known for his involvement in medical services during the Rana Plaza tragedy, emphasized the importance of providing medical care to those in need. Despite his political affiliations, Dr. Anamur has been dedicated to serving the community, especially during times of crisis.
Expert medical professionals at Enam Medical College were astounded by the scale of injuries sustained during the recent movement. Dr. Anamur revealed that since August, the hospital has admitted and treated a significant number of gunshot victims, illustrating the severity of the situation.
During a recent court appearance related to a murder case in Mirpur, Dr. Anamur explained his commitment to providing medical care to those affected by the movement. He emphasized that his focus has always been on his hospital duties, rather than engaging in political activities.
The former Minister also highlighted his absence from political events since the January elections, attributing it to health issues and personal challenges. He stressed that he had no involvement in the recent student movement or the incidents that transpired, further solidifying his dedication to medical service.
Dr. Anamur’s arrest on Sunday from the Vatara area of the capital was related to his alleged participation in a student demonstration against injustice at Mirpur Golchattor on July 19. The tragic event resulted in the death of a protester, prompting legal action against 242 individuals, including Dr. Anamur.
In light of these events, Dr. Anamur’s unwavering commitment to providing medical care to the injured remains a testament to his dedication to humanitarian service beyond political affiliations. As the legal process unfolds, his actions during the recent movement showcase a compassionate and selfless approach to aiding those in need.
