BNP Leader Accused of Murder in Pakundia
In a shocking incident in Pakundia, a BNP leader named Mo. Alam Mia, aged 65, was allegedly murdered with a knife during a dispute between two brothers. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in the Char Teki village of the upazila.
Mo. Alam Mia was the son of the late Najim Uddin from Char Teki village. He was a BNP candidate for the chairman of Ward 5 in the Jangalia Union. According to police and local sources, a quarrel broke out between the two sons of Golam Hossain, Sohrab Uddin, and Nizam Uddin over cutting a tree in a nearby field.
Mo. Alam Mia, who was working in his adjacent land at the time, intervened to stop the fight between the two brothers. Unfortunately, he was seriously injured in the altercation when Sohrab Uddin allegedly stabbed him with a knife. Local residents rushed him to the Pakundia Upazila Health Complex for treatment, where the duty doctor declared him dead.

In response to the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mo. Shakawat Hossain of the Pakundia Police Station stated that the body has been recovered and sent to the Kishoreganj Shaheed Sayed Nazrul Islam Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
