Two Robbers Arrested in Rayganj, Bangladesh
In a swift operation, the police in Rayganj, Bangladesh, apprehended two members of an inter-district gang of robbers preparing for a heist with local weapons and a mini pickup van.
The arrests took place on Wednesday evening, as announced by Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mr. Asaduzzaman from the Rayganj police station.
Details of the Arrest
The apprehended individuals were identified as Sajib, aged 21, son of Abdul Hakim from Paschimbati village in Gaibandha’s Saghata Upazila, and Monsur, also known as Monsur Ali, aged 55, son of Ekramul Hossain from Choriya Kalibari area in Solonga Thana of Sirajganj.
According to OC Asaduzzaman, the police received confidential information that a group of robbers, including the two arrested individuals, was planning a robbery near Pongashir Degree College in Rayganj early Wednesday morning. Acting on this tip, a raid was conducted around 3 am, resulting in the capture of the two suspects. The rest of the gang managed to flee the scene.
Seized Items and Legal Actions
During the operation, the police recovered a mini pickup van, two machetes used for robbery, a lock-cutting machine, a crowbar, and various other tools commonly used in criminal activities.
OC Asaduzzaman further stated that the arrested robbers have pending robbery and extortion cases in multiple police stations across Sirajganj, Dhaka, Manikganj, Gazipur, and Bogura. Additionally, another case related to the incident has been filed at the Rayganj police station.
