The event, held at the DC Park in Faujdar Hat, Chattogram, marked the inauguration of a youth fair and cultural festival organized by the Chattogram District Administration. Farida Khanam emphasized the pivotal role of the youth in reshaping the narrative of Bangladesh, urging them to reject drugs, terrorism, and violence to create a society free from such vices.
Transforming a Troubled Past into a Promising Future
Reflecting on the park’s history, Khanam recalled a time when it was a hub for drug addicts, overrun by drug dealers. Thanks to the relentless efforts and collaboration of the district administration, the park was reclaimed from the clutches of addiction and restored as a safe space for the community. The park, now a symbol of the government’s dedication and success in combating drug abuse, was aptly named DC Park to honor this achievement.
